It was announced today that Jonathan is to join Mayor Boris Johnson’s Digital Advisory Board at its inauguration. This Board is influential in the digital policy development process at the Greater London Authority, which was one of the first in the World to create an open data repository for city data of all kinds (called the London Datastore). The Evening Standard profiled the development in Mark Prigg’s blog.
Jonathan has been working with the London Datastore since its inception to support its work to open data for commercial and community re-use. Placr have contributed to the work of the Datastore by developing datasets and tools for developers to access open data releases, which are often very large and complex data sets.
